The path to Freedom is Forgiveness

But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:15)

Freedom is what you do with what’s been done to you,” is a profound quote by Jean-Paul Sartre. All of us have been wronged, and we’ve all wronged others. The choice is ours, whether we wallow in pain or acknowledge and accept it and move forward. You are condemned to your emotional and spiritual pain if you choose not to let it go.

Today, prayerfully reflect on times when you lost your freedom by not letting go of a wrong. Then, remember another time when you did experience pain but retained your freedom through forgiving yourself &/or another. Reflection can be painful, but the Holy Spirit will provide courage and wisdom. Often, painful reflection on forgiveness is the only path to freedom.
