Meet Jason and Paige!

On Sunday, February 26th, we welcomed two new members to our congregation: Jason Scott and Paige Klinkenborg. They have both written a little about themselves as an introduction.

Jason Scott

I and my fiancé, Joseph Van Arsdale, live in the Oak Park neighborhood, with our German Shepherd named Boomer. I am a graduate of Maquoketa High school and moved to Des Moines in 2005, after attending college, and have made Des Moines my home. Joe and I are set to be married on June 24, 2023.

I spent most of my childhood growing up in the Eastern Iowa Presbytery and attending the Lost Nation Presbyterian church. I have deep and longstanding ties to Camp Wyoming, a Presbyterian USA Church camp, as a camper, volunteer, and also worked as a summer program staff member for multiple years. My father and grandmother both retired after working for decades at Camp Wyoming. My father, Paul Scott, was the Builder and Grounds Director for 38 years. My late Grandmother, Phyllis Scott, was the Food Service Manager for 25 years.

I work as a Senior Learning Consultant for ADP. Teaching associates and clients from around the world and have worked for ADP for 17 years. I am also a Realtor with Iowa Realty and have been actively licensed for 8 years.

In my free time, I work on a variety of hobbies, enjoy the outdoors, and visiting my family & family farms in eastern Iowa.

Paige Klinkenborg

I’m excited to be a new member here at Westminster. I have an almost 2 year old daughter, Wyatt Klinkenborg, who keeps me on my toes as she continues to grow and learn every day. She will be getting baptized here at Westminster in just a couple more weeks (March 19th). We reside in Des Moines and have two cats named Dexter and DeeDee.

I grew up in Westminster Church with my parents and siblings so there are a lot of familiar faces to me but I look forward to connecting and reconnecting with people.

I graduated from Roosevelt High School where I played soccer and attended University of Iowa where I studied social work and was a part of Alpha Delta Pi sorority - Go Hawkeyes!

I work as a school social worker in Waukee Community School District.

In my free time, I enjoy being active outdoors (kayaking, biking, hiking), reading, gardening, and sewing.
