Summer Camp Celebration at Shalom Community Impact Center

The Shalom Community Impact Center celebrated their last day of summer program 2023 on Wednesday, August 9. Parents came to help celebrate. The kids shared what they liked best about the program and what could be improved – there was a loud unanimous MORE FIELD TRIPS! The kids also performed musical numbers. One group performed Taylor Swift’s “You Belong with Me”. While it is a large world, it is amazing how seemingly small things bring us together. The slide presentation of the summer activities elicited lots of laughs. At the end of the celebration each of the kids were given a backpack.

Eugene did a great job being the emcee and keeping 65 kids in check for the program!

He thanked Westminster for our partnership, support and bringing Alex Knoshaug (SUMMIT intern) to them. Alex, along with the other volunteers, received a certificate of appreciation and a loud applause.

The energy, fun and excitement in the room clearly showed their belief that “children are our future and education is the key.”
