Hoot-n-Howl Carnival and Concert Extravaganza

It’s back and bigger than ever!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19 for Hoot-n-Howl this year.
It consists of two major parts, the carnival and the organ concert.
Carnival, concert, food, are all free!

The kid friendly carnival begins at 5:00 p.m. Get your costumes on and head on over!  Enter thru the Northwest door and head towards the gym (The Commons)  Your family/group will travel around to all of the carnival stations around the church. Stations include kick ball darts, ring toss, lollipop tree, photo booth and more!  The stations with games will have prizes. After you hit the stations you'll be guided back to the gym where we will have a kid friendly meal of hot dogs, chips and fruit.  There will be vegan, gluten free and dairy free options available. The carnival wraps up with the kids having a costume parade in the Sanctuary.

The Hoot-n-Howl Organ Concert is a time-honored tradition.  It begins with the kids processing around the Sanctuary before returning to their families.  The first ten minutes feature an extended work with narration focusing on music to entertain both children and adults. The remainder of the concert is played by organists Juli Bey, Stephen O'Baker, Ben Hoskins and Michael Gookin performing a diverse set of popular music and hauntingly grand organ standards.

Donation Items Needed for Hoot-n-Howl

This year Hoot-n-Howl is going to be extra epic! It's scheduled for Saturday, October 19.  We're expecting at least 50 kids plus their families to come through so we could use some help! If you could donate some of these items or your time, we would appreciate it.  Items can be brought to the church office anytime between now and October 17.

1. Bottles of Soda or Sparkling Water - This is for the ring toss game.  Kids will throw

a ring around the bottle and they get to take that for their prize!  Six Packs of 16 oz

bottles will be perfect. Two liters will be great for a larger prize. We are asking for

bottles, not cans, please.   If possible, please choose caffeine free sodas/waters.

2. Candy - Halloween just isn't complete without it!  We'll happily take any candy

as long as it is individually wrapped. This will be used as prizes for the different

carnival games.

3. Small Prizes - Small Halloween themed prizes are requested.  These will be

used  as a larger prize at the games.  Please try to avoid bloody or gory items.

4. Decorations - any decorations you're no longer using would be greatly

appreciated.  We will be decorating the gym (The Commons), the third floor

hallway, the Sanctuary and more!  We're also requesting to borrow inflatables

that you put on your yard for extra atmosphere.  Please label these so that we

can get them to the correct homes. For all decorations please avoid bloody or

gory items. We want this to be merry, not scary

5. Volunteer at the Event - we are looking for volunteers to help the junior high

kids run the games as well as serve the dinner.  Contact Laura@westpres.org.

6. Invite Friends - this is a great event to bring a friend to.  We happily welcome

kids of all ages to the carnival and of course the concert.
