Thank You, Westminster!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated men’s clothing for Des Moines Refugee Support’s December drive. Samantha Thorpe shared a photo of her vehicle loaded up with all the donations and the backseat was full also! The donations were dropped off and will be organized by volunteers to become a part of their Santa’s Ride.

Santa’s Ride is a yearly event that provides holiday gifts and essentials to families in need. Santa’s Ride will take place on December 9th. Santa’s Ride will visit six different apartment complexes around the metro where many refugees live. By going directly to the apartment complexes the transportation barrier is eliminated; and items can be brought to the refugee families in need. Last year, 525 families attended the event and were able to get assistance. A family can range from 2-8 people.

This event would not be possible without the support of people who donate their time, money, and items that they can spare.
