Adopt - A - Family - Another Successful Year

Santa’s Elves (also known as the Church & Community Committee) along with Lydia Crouse, Grace Cook, Nevaeh Thomas, Ryan Walsh, and Sam Bronsink were busy this week, organizing, tagging and checking the Adopt-a-Family wish lists twice! 130 gifts were collected for two families from Monroe Elementary School, one from Family Promise, and LSI gardeners. The three families were comprised of 4 adults and 10 children. Stacy Crouse and Erica Nichols Cook delivered the Monroe and Family Promise gifts on December 19th. The other gifts will be picked up later this week.

We also delivered a huge bag of hats, mittens and gloves to Monroe Elementary from the Mitten Tree along with boots donated by the Social Justice Committee. Thank you to the Fibersmiths of Des Moines who filled the mitten tree! And a huge thank you to the Westminster congregation for their generosity in donating gifts to make these families’ holiday a little merrier.
