Taking on a New Role

Advent is a season of “already and not yet” and so the current situation of my “already” serving with you at Westminster and “not yet” of being with you full time seems particularly appropriate.

As most of you know, I joined the staff of Westminster back in May as a part time associate pastor for pastoral care. In that capacity I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know mostly the homebound and those experiencing medical crises, as well as participating in worship leadership about once a month. As my position expands to full-time in February, I’ll have the joy of getting to know the full breadth of the Westminster Church family.

My primary additional responsibilities will include worshiping with you every week, preaching monthly, supporting the adult education committee, families, and supervision of staff (children’s ministry, youth ministry and communication director). What I’m most excited about with the expanded role, both in terms of my time and responsibilities, is that I will have the opportunity to build relationships with the full spectrum of the Westminster family through one-on-one meetings and small group gatherings.

Many thanks to Bill and Scott, the HR committee, session and all of you for this exciting opportunity to serve Westminster. My husband, Curt, and my Welsh terrier “co-pastor”, ZuZu, join me in eagerly looking forward to this new chapter in ministry together with you at Westminster
