Pastoral Staff Changes

Dear members,

I wanted to share that Meghan and I are transitioning our positions in 2024. I am stepping out of Chief of Staff and my role will return to Parish Associate, and Meghan will increase from half-time to full-time associate. I will continue to supervise our facilities manager, preschool director and the soon-to-be-created office manager position. Meghan will take my 3 program team reports. I will continue as staff support for the HR, Foundation and Finance and Administration committees. I will continue to teach junior high and confirmation, and I will still participate in weekly worship. As Meghan begins preaching once a month, I will reduce my commitment to preaching a couple times per year.

I will move from being responsible for the staff to more of an advising role. I’ll reduce my office hours to meetings and appointments only, and we will lower my pay to a $1,000 per month stipend. This frees me to bring my nonprofit and MBA skills to other organizations, like Calvin Community, which has invited me onto their board, and our Presbytery, which has elected me Treasurer. I am grateful for God’s work through our staff and our accomplishments over the six and a half years I have served as Chief of Staff. I look forward to continuing to bring continuity as a member of the team. I also look forward to having less responsibility, and more freedom for ministry outside of Westminster.
