Year of Kindness and Gratitude- Week of January 22nd

With January ending and February coming soon, it is time to revisit your goals for the year. One of the ways to recapture the motivation you felt at the beginning of the year is to remind yourself of all the things you are grateful for in your life.

  • For this week, think of a random act of kindness someone did for you in the past. Recreate that for someone else this month.

  • Remember to say thank you every time someone does something for you.

Reading books that emphasize the power of thankfulness can help keep gratitude top of mind. You may also find reading books about gratitude with your children or grandchildren helps them focus on the positives in their lives.

A book that was highly recommended for children: The Thank You Book by Mo Willems

Using an elephant and a pig, Mo Willems offers humor and conversation to show the ways we can express our gratitude and how it matters to those around us.

If you have recommendations for books about gratitude, please send them to Susan at sdenton@westpres.org.
