Foundation Sunday

This Sunday, May 7th, we celebrate the lasting legacy of ministry that is the Westminster Foundation. Since its inception, under the direction of the Session, our Foundation has bolstered the efforts of Buildings and Grounds, has provided support to numerous Outreach programs, supported the Fine Arts, and overall provides a large percentage of funding to the annual budget. Twenty-some years ago, our Foundation helped provide a mortgage for our building renovation, and then several years later forgave nearly $2 million dollars of the remaining balance. Today the Board continues to manage more than $7 million in assets. Each quarter, a distribution is made to the church from the Foundation.

So Sunday, we celebrate the generosity of the Westminster Society members. Current Society members will be listed on a Bulletin insert, and they will be asked to stand and be recognized. A series of video snippets will also be shown, to underscore what the Foundation means to some of its contributors.

After the service, we will celebrate the generosity of Westminster Society members at a reception, held in Simmerman Lounge.

We would like to extend an invitation to all church members to consider joining our Westminster Society.

One side of the bulletin insert provides information about joining; please take a look on Sunday. And we certainly ask any church member who is interested in learning more about the Foundation, to join us at the reception, or chat at your convenience with any of the Board members.
