Hello, my name is Isobel Chowanec. After graduating from St Andrew's College of Education Edinburgh, Scotland, I worked for five years in an international school in the United Arab Emirates. When I returned to Scotland, I worked in mainstream education as a class teacher in primary school for six years teaching children between the ages of seven and twelve, and then accepted a post as a teacher of Scottish and Irish Travellers, Roma and Circus children/Learning Support teacher, where I developed suitable programs of support for individuals and groups and liased with other teachers and welfare agencies.
Marrying Greg took us to Augusta, Georgia, then back "across the pond" to North Yorkshire in England, and then back again to Johnston, Iowa, where we've since lived with our three daughters, two dogs, and a variety of guinea pigs.
Working in the 3yr old classroom at Westminster Preschool, I enjoy seeing the creativity, ingenuity, and interests of the children develop through purposeful play where they learn to understand their world!
