Diane Green was born in northwestern Iowa and grew up on a farm, the oldest of four children. She graduated from Galva High School and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. After one year and part of an Associates Degree, she moved to Des Moines and started working as an administrative assistant. Her work over the years has been mostly with Iowa associations, but also in the radio and television industry and as a temp while going back to school. In 2009 she returned to college at Grand View University and completed her bachelor’s degree in 2013.
Diane and Bill Green married in 1984. Diane has a step-daughter in California and nieces and nephews around the country. After the death of her maternal grandmother, Diane became interested in genealogy and has pursued family history with the help of the Iowa Genealogical Society. She and her husband usually travel one big trip each year, and her mother came along on their first trip to Germany. That led to more trips, some where she has researched her history.
Diane also enjoys gardening, knitting, reading, and visiting with family and friends.
